About Me

My name is Stuart Brown and I’m a Project Manager based in Wellington, New Zealand. I’ve been working in the Project Management field since the end of 2006. Initially the work I was involved with was primarily roll outs of database updates, specifically the updating of a FileMaker Pro CRM (Client Relationship Management) system for the Quitline.

Since then, I have been involved in further projects in the CRM, web development, IT infrastructure and change management spaces. I’m currently working as a Project Manager at the Ministry of Social Development on Phase 2 of the Welfare Reform Programme.

I’m someone who relishes a challenge and I’m passionate about forming collaborative well communicated relationships in order to successfully deliver a project.

While a large majority of my experience is within the IT world, the most recent change management project I was involved with had little to do with technology and more to do with people and process. It was a change that I found both challenging and enjoyable.

The thing that I most enjoy about Project Management is that it allows something new to be delivered to the business with the aim of improving something which helps the business better meet their objectives. I guess I get excited about new things!

I became PRINCE2 Practitioner certified in 2008 when I wanted some method to the madness that project management can sometimes be!

I am also a committee member of the Wellington PRINCE2 User Group which meets every six weeks to discuss project management and listen to guest speakers talk on topics such as writing a good business case through to how to better work with your Project Sponsor.
